Adultery Temple

Psalm 50:16-18
16 But to the wicked God says,
“What right have you to tell of My statutes
And to take My covenant in your mouth?
17 “For you hate discipline,
And you cast My words behind you.
18 “When you see a thief, you are pleased with him,
And you associate with adulterers.

wick·ed    adjective 1. evil or morally bad in principle or practice; sinful; iniquitous.

Wickedness has plagued the church for many centuries, and there is always the struggle between good, and evil.

He would be a wonderful preacher

The other day I was having a conversation with my 83 year old father.  I was troubled in my heart as there had been some misunderstandings that were weighing heavy on my heart that was over the spiritual direction Rich and I have taken.  You see my husband and I have left the religious organizations that we were raised in.  Not our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ but in how traditional church has been done in our culture.

To back up a little bit I need to tell you that my father is not only my physical father but also the planter of my faith in Christ.  He and my mother planted the seeds of truth in my life as a young child.  It was more than the sinner's prayer, it was a world view... what the world was like, what God was like and how we were to navigate ourselves through it.  Our navigation instruction came from the Bible and my folks talked about the Bible a lot.  They not only talked about the principles of the Bible but they lived it.  No, they were not perfect and made mistakes but their hearts were true.

Culture series: "Good is Evil and Evil is Good"

What men are facing in this culture.

"Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery."
Any man that marries a divorced woman, and thinks that he is a Christian is fooling himself and allowing himself to be deceived by the world.  Make no mistake, you will not make it, just as the word says:
"Can a man take fire in his bosom?"

If you are married to a divorced woman you are going into your neighbors wife.  Why?

Revival - Leaving the Roman World Behind

Genesis 10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations; and out of these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood.

It is fascinating to consider the things that happened to mankind after the great flood which took place approx. 2350 BC. About one hundred years after the flood, God confused the language of all the people and the tower of Babel was abandoned. The peoples being separated by all the different languages began to migrate to all the corners of the Earth. We have no idea exactly how many people were alive at that time. Evidently they migrated in every direction. The people that went to the north and west became the Indo-European peoples from which came the Mycenae peoples and they eventually became the Greeks. Also there were the various peoples that populated the coast lands all throughout Southern Europe. Some of these were the Latin speaking peoples that settled on one of the hills of the future city of Rome, on the Palatine hill, about the tenth century BC. From history we can see that they were a very organized and resourceful people that became a powerful kingdom at first, and then became a republic around 500 BC. Ancient Roman society has contributed greatly to government, law, politics, engineering, art, literature, architecture, technology, warfare, religion, language, society and more in the Western world. It is the religious aspect of the ancient Roman world that I feel is necessary to explore in this paper.

About Us

I came from a rich and long heritage of people who were not Christians just in name but truly in heart also and were following the truths laid out in the scriptures. I know this came to me not in a genetic heritage but in a heritage of faith that the truths of the Bible were lived and taught to each generation.
